Hybrid Methods of Knowledge Elicitation within a Unified Representational Knowledge Scheme
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents a case study showing how hybrid methods of knowledge elicitation can be used to build models in support of the functioning of intelligent agents. What facilitates both the elicitation of knowledge and its conversion into actionable models is the use of a unified representational knowledge scheme – specifically, an unambiguous, ontologically grounded metalanguage that serves as the language of all recorded knowledge as well as the language in which agents remember and reason.

Neuro-Symbolic Approaches for Knowledge Representation in Expert Systems
In this paper, we first present and compare existing categorization schemes for neuro-symbolic approaches. We then stress the point that not all hybrid neuro-symbolic approaches can be accommodated by existing categories. Such a case is rule-based neuro-symbolic approaches that propose a unified knowledge representation scheme suitable for use in expert systems. That kind of integrated schemes ...
متن کاملKRITON: A Knowledge-Acquisition Tool for Expert Systems
A hybrid system for automatic knowledge acquisition for expert systems is presented. The system integrates artificial intelligence and cognitive science methods to construct knowledge bases employing different knowledge representation formalisms. For the elicitation of human declarative knowledge, the tool contains automated interview methods. The acquisition of human procedural knowledge is ac...
متن کاملAn EM Algorithm for Estimating the Parameters of the Generalized Exponential Distribution under Unified Hybrid Censored Data
The unified hybrid censoring is a mixture of generalized Type-I and Type-II hybrid censoring schemes. This article presents the statistical inferences on Generalized Exponential Distribution parameters when the data are obtained from the unified hybrid censoring scheme. It is observed that the maximum likelihood estimators can not be derived in closed form. The EM algorithm for computing the ma...
متن کاملKnowledge Representation, Learning, and Problem Solving for General Intelligence
For an intelligent agent to be fully autonomous and adaptive, all aspects of intelligent processing from perception to action must be engaged and integrated. To make the research tractable, a good approach is to address these issues in a simplified micro-environment that nevertheless engages all the issues from perception to action. We describe a domain independent and scalable representational...
متن کاملRe-Framing the Knowledge to Action Challenge Through NIHR Knowledge Mobilisation Research Fellows; Comment on “CIHR Health System Impact Fellows: Reflections on ‘Driving Change’ Within the Health System”
The ambition of the Canadian Institutes for Health Research Health System Impact (HSI) Fellowship initiative to modernise the health system is impressive. Embedded researchers who work between academia and nonacademic settings offer an opportunity to reframe the problem of evidence uptake as a product of a gap between those who produce knowledge and those who use it. As such, there has been an ...
